04 Tundra slams on brakes in curves

Our 2004 Toyota Tundra has recently started acting up. Sometimes when you are going around a curve, the truck slams on the brakes and starts beeping. A little icon appears on the dash that is a car with tracks behind it that looks like a curve. It doesn't do it all the time, just some of the time. What is happening? We thought it was the brake shoes, but had those replaced and it still does it. Please, any help would be great. Thanks!

your traction control is engaging, which picks up it's signals from the ABS system, the sensors may too far from rotors or drums, or a loose wheel bearing, Darrin

Vehicle stability system is kicking in because you're going too fast around the corner.

Early Toyota VSC's were overly aggressive. Check with the dealer to see if they have a TSB or software update to tone it down.

My '05 4door does this too. I have a turn at a stop sign on my way to work with a hill on one side and a curve on the left,so i often have to floor it damn near if someone is speeding over the hill, more often than not my trac control comes on and lights up on the dash as it beeps. Annoying as it makes a bad situation worse.
