Can't Remove Tie-rod end!

How can I get this off? This is my dad's car but they're all the same.

I got it removed from the knuckle, but I can't get this nut loose?

Thanks

It's not the way how internet forum should work.

If you figured it out, tell us how. What was wrong (a lot of corrosion, improper, too small/weak tools was used or there is left hand thread like in rear control arms)?

exactly, so what was wrong?

I had another DOH! moment and was tightening instead of loosening. Got the rack boot replaced now.

that's OK, I get lost with that too, all depends on perspective haha. so it is a normal right hand thread, lefty loosey (counter clock wise) righty tighty (clock wise)?

Yeah it is, just from were I was standing it was opposite.

His car needs new tires, so we might get the Yokohomas at NTB that are part of the buy 2 get 2 free. Only catch is you have to get the 1 year($115) alignment policy.

got caught by that soooo many times

now I always imagine first from which side the bolt/nut gets threaded on so I know which way to turn it

the classic example is the fuel filter bottom flare nut

gross of people turn it counter clock wise (while looking at it from top so it is upside down) twisting the fuel line and they don't have a clue why it sits on there so tight

last time I made that mistake when trying to loosen a caliper bleeder screw I realized thankfully what I was doing just before I broke it...

buy 2 get 2 free? sounds like a steal

which Yokohama tires and how much per tire (perhaps they double charge hehe)?

I like Yokohama AVID Envigors, good rubber, have them in fronts on V6, did really well so far in all road conditions (except ice that is, but ABS helped on that).

Another good example... Rear bank, Sensor 1, O2 sensor on a 1MZ engine? Yeah, been there.

That's one of the last things I need to replace on my car, fuel filter. Its original, I imagine black fluids coming out. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah, my teacher reminded us about the bleeder screw too, they are a fragile piece of hardware.

Yeah, I think my Dad said the total price will be around $600

My mom's quest has Yokohomas, don't know which ones, but they have good tread life.

They are the AS530s:

If he decides not to, I will just get the Bridgestone - Potenza G019 Grids from Costco and install them at my school. No way he will spend $200 each on the factory Michelin Energys.

hey, just a side note on Yokohamas.

2 tires AVID Envigor cost me total $160+s/h (now $184+s/h) from tirerack.com in last Summer (205/60/16 92V 560 AA A) and installation and balancing was $30 (total) at local shop 5 miles away. as said, you may be paying double for that deal...

also, please don't get G019 (bridgestone potenza?) I had them all around on 5s-fe, first Winter they were awesome, next one was getting slippery and third was ridiculous. dumped them all after 2 years into garbage and took a set of new Dunlop SP Sport Signature (460 A A or something, i'm using 94V 205/65/15 here) instead at similar price in tirerack.com ... and no more problems ever ... those Potenza tires wear out quickly too.
