Oh, man, sorry to see that! Trust me, you have my sympathies. If that were my FJ I'd be crying like a baby. How did it happen?

She was on the freeway and a deer decided to cross the road. Instead of just hitting the deer, she decides to swerve around the deer but in doing so, she lost control of the vehicle and hit the light post as well as the brick wall on the freeway...this all happened around midnight...

It's been sitting at the body shop since last Friday (6/5)...dumb insurance haven't even gone out to assess the damage. I wish they would hurry up with it...

Ouch! That sucks...I am with TrailDust, if it were my vehicle I would have cried myself to sleep every night since last Friday! I hope the repairs go smoothly! Keep us posted!

Thanks I hope so too because I rarely get into accident *knock on wood* I really don't know any good body shop so it's at a Cadillac/Lexus dealer bodyshop at the moment. I was referred to them by a co-worker plus I had work done by them once but it was only cosmetic and they seem to do a good job.

I'll keep you guys/gals posted.

Okay for all you GURU's out there...I'm looking at the estimate and they have down Unibody-Frame -->Sublet Repair @ 302.50. I called my insurance and they say it's common now-a-days to have the body frame straighten out if it was bent? Is that common? How safe is that?

I'm not happy with State Farm atm...I see lots of 'recondition'/'recycled' parts on the list..:ahhhh:

Need some help! The insurance quoted $560 for the OEM brush guard. I'm looking to get an aftermarket. I was looking towards chrome but may have to opt out for black but here's what I've narrowed down to soo far:

Aries Modular Grill Guard (Stainless)

Or

BLACK HORSE - Modular Grille Guard

Or

Dee Zee Euro Grille Guard

Any opinions would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Well I just heard back from my insurance ...now they are claiming a loss due to more damages on the vehicle than inspected....

I actually read my policy the last time I bought insurance and it allows them to use other manufacturers parts and reconditioned if they do repairs.

I actually added an additional coverage to my policy that requires my insurance company to use OEM parts. It only raised the cost of my insurance about $5 every six months.
