Help?? new rims... can i Make them fit?

OK so i bought some new Stern ST-1 18's, and les schwabs is saying that they dont clear the strut tower. my question is has anyone used spacers?? the wheel side is 18 inchs in diameter 9.5 wide and +46 offset. I have a 1999 Solara, and I really hope that I can make these work beacause I cant return them. Any help would be greatly appreciated..
